Shower scrub that you can eat? What could be more fun than that? 🙂
If you’re the kind of person who wants to use a shower scrub that will make you feel squeaky clean, this scrub is not for you. It has coconut oil in it – so it’s not going to give you a soapy clean result. But, it will make your skin nice and soft.
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup salt
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil (vco)
1 tablespoon of honey
Mix brown sugar and salt, then add lemon juice, virgin coconut oil and honey, mix well.
Notes: I think next time I would try something different for the scenti-ness factor. The lemon juice was supposed to do it in this recipe, but it just doesn’t go great. I think vanilla might smell better with the brown sugar and the honey. Something to experiment with. Also, it does separate a little in the container, so if it’s a while between uses you will probably want to give it a good stir. Use it liberally – the first few times I tried it out I caught myself hoarding it in tiny amounts like my over-expensive bath and body works products. Aside from the start-up jar of coconut oil (cost almost $10 but you only use a tablespoon so it pays for itself over time) this stuff is dirt cheap – so lather it on! 🙂
Opinion: Will definitely make this again. It’s a cheap treat and completely non-toxic.
